CEO, The Zhen U

Zhanna Reed, a model and multi-hyphenate artist, is the founder of The Zhen U, a brand revolutionizing the hair removal and self-care industry with a natural, sweet sugaring method designed for everybody with a body. The Zhen U challenges outdated beauty standards and opens conversations about the taboo topic of body hair. Her journey began at age 11 as a young hairy girl contending with societal pressures and harsh hair removal methods like creams and razors. Driven by these early experiences, Zhanna developed a sustainable, gentle, at-home alternative to hair removal that emphasizes mind-to-body care, showing just what a little sugar can do to enhance confidence and celebrate authentic self-expression.

CEO, A Storied Life

A Storied Life was established in 2020 after Founding Director Amber Sastry resolved to do something about how disconnected we can be from each other – and ourselves – during the difficult, vulnerable, and universal experiences of birth and death. By gathering diverse, intergenerational local community members to share their personal stories about birth and death, and to truly listen to one another, A Storied Life is restoring our connection to others and our understanding of ourselves so that we can make meaning from our lived experience and find peace in the experiences of birth, death, and the precious moments between. The practical wisdom garnered in these groups is activated to influence feasible change in the healthcare system with the goal of returning a sense of awe and humanity to the sacred experiences of birth and death.

Classroom Cafe, a woman-owned LLC established in 2022, was founded by Chef Mignon, who is driven by a passion for connecting cooking with education—especially for youth. Her vision is to inspire young people to make healthier food choices and to empower them with the skills to cook for themselves, fostering independence and self-reliance. Her commitment to cleanliness in the kitchen, adherence to food safety protocols, and dedication to teaching essential life skills, guide Classroom Cafe’s mission of creating sustainable communities by promoting fun, age-appropriate, and interactive cooking experiences.

Her inspiration for starting this organization came from her personal experience advocating for her daughters healthcare needs particularly, managing her daughters type one diabetes illness. LaTeesha’s passion for motivating and inspiring others is now channeled into promoting preventative health measures, making healthcare screenings more accessible by offering services at people’s doorsteps or workplaces.
