Yes, you must enroll in the study to use the system during the testing period, which will run from January 2026 until mid-2027. Enrollment is quick and easy using the All Access app, website, or call center.
You will be required to take 4 surveys to report your experience over the course of 18 months. All eligible participants will be entered into a drawing to win up to $500.
- The NFTA Community Shuttle provides on-demand, door-to-door rides within the shuttle service area
- The All Access Loop (a self-driving shuttle) circulates around a loop with fixed stops.
The system is fully integrated with bus and rail routes throughout Buffalo and the Niagara Frontier. The app will give users bus and rail schedules in real time. You can also use the call center to plan trips that connect with NFTA Metro Bus and Rail.
The service area for the NFTA Community Shuttle and All Access Loop are shown in this map. The NFTA Community Shuttle can be called to anywhere within the boundary shown. The All Access Loop has the fixed stops shown on the map.

No, the self-driving shuttle uses the latest technology to operate and has been thoroughly tested for safety. There will be a safety attendant on board during its hours of operation who will be able to answer questions, drive the shuttle manually, and troubleshoot any issues that might arise.
The self-driving shuttle will follow a fixed route, or loop within the Medical Campus area. There will be four stops on the loop, and passengers are asked to board and disembark the shuttle at a designated stop. This shuttle can be summoned right from the All Access App or by calling the call center as needed.
Yes, you must be within the shuttle service area to use the NFTA Community Shuttle. Whether you are traveling a longer route or just making a short hop across the service area, the All Access app or call center staff will guide you through the process.
Yes, you can. You will just need to get to a point in the shuttle service area where the shuttle can pick you up.
Yes, it will. It will deliver you safely to your destination within the service area. If you need to travel outside the service area, it will take you to the correct transit stop to take the bus or metro rail to your final destination. You can plan your whole trip right in the app or by using the call center.
Pilot Service Schedule
During the initial launch phase, AllAccess will operate Monday through Friday on the schedule below. Service will scale up as usage of the system increases, with an expanded schedule anticipated by late April.
AllAccess Loop Shuttle (Scheduled Service Monday – Friday):
- 8:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
- 2:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
The Loop Shuttle provides regular, predictable service, with fixed stops connecting key destinations on and around the Buffalo Niagara Medical Campus as shown in the service area map.
AllAccess On-Demand Shuttle (Monday – Friday):
- 10:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m.
The on-demand service allows riders to request pick-ups and drop-offs within the on-demand shuttle area via the All Access app during the midday hours, offering even more flexibility for appointments, errands, and work or school schedules, even to pick up lunch, or groceries!
During the 18-month testing period, only those aged 18 years or older can sign up for the All Access Service. You are welcome to invite family members who are eligible to sign up.
Indoor navigation services are only available at Buffalo General Hospital (100 High Street) and Visually Impaired Advancement (1170 Main Street) buildings during the testing period.
Yes, All Access navigation services will work outdoors throughout the Buffalo Niagara Region.
The All Access call center will be open from 6 am to 7 pm from Monday to Friday. For assistance, travelers can call (716) 888-4600.
Yes, you can use the call center to help you schedule a trip on the system. There is also an All Access Kiosk located at Buffalo General Medical Center and at the Summer/Best Metro Rail Station.
Yes, the system is particularly helpful for care coordinators. Within the app you will be prompted to note if you are a coordinator. The app will then allow you to schedule and monitor trips for another individual.
